Don Altwein, WorkPlaceUSA's senior vice president of projectmanagement, says the fourth floor has been redesigned toaccommodate a shift of the Dallas Stars from the Southwest SportsGroup's office. The group, owned by Tom Hicks, is the holdingcompany for the Texas Rangers, the NHL's Stars and othersports-related endeavors.

Key to the project, though, was the trade-off of payment, withDallas-based WorkPlaceUSA getting a 50-guest suite for a day whichit donated, along with the food, to the children and staff atBuckner Children and Family Services so they could attend one ofthe season's last baseball games. The organization is one of thenation's largest social-care ministries, servicing about 70,000people annually.

Altwein says the layout and lobby were retooled, includingconference rooms and executive offices. Kimberly Surratt, interiordesigners and space programmer for WorkPlaceUSA, oversaw the"paper" reconfiguration along with the firm's Terry Turner.
