"The topography is great. There are a lot of natural washes thatrun through the site that we've preserved, as well as an extensivetrail system," Heidi Kimball, a vice president at Sunbelt Holdings,tells GlobeSt.com. "Everything is linked with very strongpedestrianconnections."
Sunbelt is developing the property on behalf of SonoranFoothills Inc., a family-owned company in Phoenix. Construction ofthe recreational center is being financed by proceeds from the saleof several single-family parcels in the development.
The single-story private facility will be surrounded by a10-acre park and includes two tennis courts, a basketball court andvolleyball court. The wood-frame building was designed by David W.Fulk Architecture of Scottsdale. Wespac Construction Inc. ofPhoenix is the general contractor. Sonoran Foothills willeventually host some 1,300 single-family homes, about 500apartments on two multifamily parcels, a public school and 120acres of commercial development.
