CHICAGO-Hines Interests L.P. has boosted occupancy at 191 N. Wacker Dr. to 90% with a series of new leases, led by a 12,218-sf deal with CIVC Partners, LP, which defects in November from 231 S. La Salle St. Earlier this spring, Chicago Underwriting Group, Inc. signed a 12,682-sf lease at the 735,000-sf building, which opened in 2002.

Houston-based Hines Interests owns the 37-story building at the southwest corner of Wacker Drive and Lake Street with California Public Employees’ Retirement Systems. The building won Development of the Year honors in 2002 at the Greater Chicago Commercial Real Estate Awards.

Other deals at 191 N. Wacker Dr. include a 7,418-sf lease with Daniels & King Management Company, LP; a 6,463-sf lease with Keystone Consulting Group, LLC; and a 3,469-sf lease with Michael Page International, Inc.

Peter Block, a senior director with Cushman & Wakefield of Illinois, Inc. represented CIVC Partners, a private equity firm. Project manager Avi Tesciuba handled negotiations for Hines Interests.
