Vaughn Collaborative, based in Washington Crossing, PA, is thearchitect, and Dublin, PA-based Walter Brucker & Co. is generalcontractor. The materials will match the current building's stoneexterior and slate roofing, and the expansion includes a newreception area, two public meeting rooms, and increased space forthe police and planning and preservation departments along withupdated computer equipment.

Area design professionals and artisans are involved in theproject. Among them are interior designer Cristian Blackwell, MiraNakashima of renowned George Nakashima Woodworkers, artist SandraEliot and custom builder Michael Warden.

The area's rising population necessitated the expansion. JohnEichert, chairman of the township's board of supervisors, says thenew facility "will clearly be more user-friendly to the staff andresidents." Completion is scheduled for Labor Day 2005. Duringconstruction, township staff and police will operate from temporaryoffice space across from the building's parking lot.
