The new additions will be up and running later this year andjoin other tenants such as Lord & Taylor and Best Buy. Thecenter, which was purchased by Feil in 1987, is adjacent to anotherFeil-owned property Crescent Plaza. Nasasu Mall shares parkingfacilities with that 200,000 sf retail strip center. Crescentretailers include Kohl's, Loews Theatres, Michaels, Party City andOld Navy.

Feil's director of leasing Randall Briskin tells GlobeSt.comthat this is the first "expansion" of the site in 10 years. Infact, he says that because the business school vacated basementspace in favor of its new digs, the center will actually be16,000-sf smaller. The No parking has been added to the site, butBriskin notes that each of the tenants sharing the parking havedifferent "peak" times of business alleviating parking burdens.

"The mall is actually one of the early retail developments onHempstead Turnpike, but it was antiquated and in need of change tomeet the demands of today's consumers," Briskin says.The wholesaleclub is near to a BJ's in neighboring Farmingdale. Briskin says thecompany does store-opening analysis and that,while it might takesome business from the other location, Levittown was the "perfectfit" in the middle of two markets. The company has another store inWestbury.
