Other planned additions include a spa and salon, conferencecenter, live dinner theatre, retail stores, restaurants, a sportsbar and a new RV park. "This is an exciting time for the Double JJand, we like to believe, for Oceana and surrounding counties,"Lipsitz says. "There's no question Western Michigan could use somepositive job news. Although our plans are long term, new jobs havealready been created in laying the groundwork for expansion. Weexpect hiring to escalate this fall and into the foreseeablefuture."

Lipsitz says a focal point in drawing more guests to the WestMichigan resort is the addition of the 55,000-sf water park. ItsWestern mine-shaft theme will feature a lazy river, two slidetowers reaching 54 feet with six thrill slides, wave pool, hottubs, two children's pools, a sports-oriented pool with basketball,volleyball and balance challenges, a 45-foot rock waterfall withclimbs to elevated pools and adult and children's arcades. It willhave a 1,000-person capacity, he adds.

The indoor water park will complement Double JJ's currentoutdoor water facility at the Back Forty Ranch that features a145-foot waterslide, zero depth entry pool, activity pool and hottub. A 57-unit condo-hotel, log homes, quarter-share condominiums,timeshare units, equestrian home sites and the new RV Park will bein addition to the resort's existing 200 rooms. The new conferencefacilities will be state of the art and the dinner theater willprovide a new evening activity, Lipsitz adds.
