Land brokers and independent urban planners in a position toknow tell GlobeSt.com LandMar Group LLC of Jacksonville, asuccessful 14-year-old subdivision developer, has surfaced as themanaging partner of Tampa developer John Reaves' investmentconsortium.

LandMar, in turn, is an affiliate of Charlotte, NC-basedCrescent Resources LLC, a national office developer and the realestate development arm of Duke Energy, the North Carolina utilityfirm that unsuccessfully tried to build a $180-million electricityplant east of Eustis in 2001. Residents convinced local governmentleaders to reject Duke's rezoning application.

LandMar's principals confirm their affiliation with Crescent ontheir website. Edward E. Burr, who founded LandMar in 1987, is thefirm's CEO. Roger F. Postlethwaite is the chief operating officer.M.G. Orender, is president of Hampton Golf Inc., a LandMaraffiliate. LandMar became a Crescent affiliate in 1999.
