"Basically location and space were big things for us," saysEllen Harten, Burlington district manager. "This new store is justso spacious and nice that we couldn't pass up the opportunity."

The old facility was 35,000 sf compared to the 84,000 sf in thepresent store, allowing for additional departments including thepopular Baby Depot Department and shoe department. "This newlocation affords us the opportunity to offer a better selection andmore value to consumers," says Stacey Pino, spokeswoman forBurlington Coat Factory.

The 55 employees working at the St. Clair Shores location allmoved to the Roseville store and, in addition, the company layeredon another 35 workers to bolster the work force.
