The three-year-old suits were filed in US District Court here.Cracker Barrel officials investigated the charges over the yearsand found no foundation for them, according to the company's SECreport. In settling the suit, Cracker Barrel denied any wrongdoing.

A total 10,118 plaintiffs will share in the settlement, anamount that equates to an average $859.85 per plaintiff. Realestate lawyers following the protracted case tell GlobeSt.com CBRLgot the better deal in the settlement. Five race-related suits werefiled by 118 plaintiffs. In a separate complaint, 10,000 hourlyworkers sued, alleging CBRL didn't pay them for working overtime.CBRL denied the charges.

The company operates 505 Cracker Barrel Old Country stores and130 company-owned and franchised Logan's Roadhouse restaurants,occupying a total 19 million sf, mostly in Southern states.
