Real estate services firm Staubach represented PBS in the leasetransaction with property owner Charles E. Smith Commercial Realty,which represented itself in the deal. Financial terms of theagreement have not been disclosed; however, Charles E. Smith ismarketing relet space at $31 to $33 per sf.

Sometime during the first quarter of 2006, PBS will settle intoa space at the 36-year-old office facility that formerly housed aportion of employees of the US Patent and Trademark Office. And thebroadcaster is getting a royal welcome from the owner, which willrename the property's west plaza and rear access road to PBSPlaza.

"And, I'm sure PBS's new home in Crystal City will be thefirst of many prestigious organizations we are able to attract duein part to the exciting revitalization of this neighborhood." Othertenants who have recently committed to vacated Patent Office spacein Crystal City include Lockheed Martin Corp. and the US GeneralServices Administration's Federal Supply Service.
