"These transactions illustrate the substantial progress we'vemade in repositioning the property as an attractively-priced optionfor all sorts of companies who want or need to have high-qualityoffices located in Midtown Manhattan," says Douglas Winshall,Trizec's executive vice president in charge of the company's eastregion. The asking price for space in the Midtown property, whichis currently 82% leased, is between $31 and $41 per sf. It is theonly spot in Trizec's New York City portfolio that still has asignificant amount of space available.

Pace Communications Group Inc., repped by C&W's AdamRappaport and Alan Markowitz of RE Com Partners LLC, inked a dealfor 11,727 sf. Law firm Weissbarth, Altman, Michaelson &Slavett LLP took 10,781 sf. The firm was represented by Deborah vander Heyden of Newmark & Co. Atlantic Development Group LLC,which signed on for 7,334 sf, was represented by Grant Greenspanand Christine Kevan of Kaufman/Adler Realty LLC. Banta Corp. signedfor 7,334 sf and was also represented by Newmark's Van der Heyden.Represented by Michael Widmondt of GVA Williams, United Airlinesinked a deal for 7,538 sf. David Kaufman, Trizec's vice presidentof leasing for the New York market, represented the REIT in all ofthe transactions.

A year ago, Trizec inked five separate deals totalingapproximately 55,000 sf at the 665,000-sf site. Built in 1958 andthen renovated in 1993, the 34-story 1065 Avenue of the Americas islocated between 40th and 41st streets, directly facing Bryant Park.Other tenants include Yahoo!, Jones Apparel Group Inc. and Rodgers& Hammerstein. Staples occupies retail space in theproperty.
