BOSTON-Cold Stone Creamery plans to open 50 to 60 new units inMassachusetts over the next three to five years. The Boston areawas one of the last major metropolitan areas for the ice creamchain to open, and the company now has six locations in thestate.
Scottsdale, AZ-based Cold Stone is looking for stores in alltypes of retail real estate, from open-air centers to malls, saysMeredith Bryan, the company's area developer. Any type of center issufficient as long as it still has high traffic from 7 p.m. to 11p.m. Cold Stone looks for vacant spaces next to movie theaters andrestaurants.
