JERSEY CITY, NJ-Officials of Mack-Cali Realty Corp. have signed leases totaling just under 75,000 sf at the REIT’s Harborside Financial Center Plaza 5 on this city’s waterfront. The 980,000-sf class A building is the largest of the six towers making up the 3.6-million-sf office component of Harborside Financial Center, a complex that also includes a Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Among those latest leases, Ameritrade Services Co. signed a new 10-year deal for 36,452 sf, representing a full floor of the 34-story tower. The online brokerage firm was represented in the negotiations by Frank Doyle of Jones Lang LaSalle.

Also, Connell Foley LLP, a law firm, took a total of 13,000 sf for a 10-year term. Tom Stanton of the Staubach Co., Murray Hill, represented the tenant. An existing tenant, Garban Intercapital North America Inc., took an additional 13,000 sf for a term of 13 years, boosting its presence for its North American headquarters location to more than 148,000 sf. The investment firm, a subsidiary of the London-based ICAP plc, was represented by John Picco of Cushman & Wakefield.

And another existing tenant in the building, TradeWeb LLC, expanded its space by just over 12,000 sf to a total of 48,000 sf in a 13-year deal. The company, an online trading network of fixed-income securities and a subsidiary of the Thomson Corp., was spoken for by Joseph Cabrera of Cushman & Wakefield. TradeWeb similarly uses the location as its North American headquarters.

The Cranford-based Mack-Cali was represented in each of the signings by Mark Ravesloot of CB Richard Ellis, New York, and by Jane Greenblatt, the REIT’s in-house director of development. Further terms of the signings were not disclosed.

The four latest signings bring the building to 73.4% leased, according to Mitchell E. Hersh, Mack-Cali’s president and CEO. “Its on-site amenities, access and financial incentives make it attractive for a diversity of businesses.
