Schiegg, an internationally known hospitality industryprofessional for 38 years, comes to the five-year-old Radisson fromthe Sea Turtle Inn in nearby Atlantic Beach where he held the sameposition. Terms of his contract were not disclosed.
Kenneth P. Balin, president and CEO of Philadelphia-based AMCDelaney Group Inc., calls Schiegg "one of the most seasoned andrespected general managers in the Jacksonville Industry." AMC andParamount Hotel Group of Fairfield, NJ bought the former SouthpointHotel in May of this year for an estimated $15 million or about$90,000 per room, as GlobeSt.com previously reported.
The partners are completing an estimated $5.6-million renovationof the property and plan to reopen the hotel under its new name inNovember. The hotel has been closed since the May 2004transaction.
