According to minutes from a July 2004 Arlington County Boardmeeting, the project will be about 170,000 sf in size. ArlingtonCounty officials tell GlobeSt.com that the total development costof the project is $30 million.

Located near the Arlington National Cemetery, the Views ofClarendon will sit on a one-acre corner parcel where N. HighlandSt. and N. Hartford St. meet in Arlington's Clarendon submarket.Ultimately the property will feature the new two-story church witheight stories of residences above it. The church's original steeplewill grace the building and the existing three-story educationalbuilding and daycare center on the site will stay in place. Anunderground 120-space parking facility will also beconstructed.

"This is a very creative project that offers tremendouscommunity benefits and enables us to achieve smart growth in aholistic way," says Barbara A. Favola, chair of the ArlingtonCounty Board. "It brings affordable housing less than a block fromthe Clarendon Metro, retains a childcare center and allows thechurch to preserve its longtime location."
