PEACHTREE CITY, GA-Overturning a big-box ordinance thatprohibits a retailer from occupying more than 32,000-sf, FaisonEnterprises of Charlotte, NC and locally based partner PeachtreeCity Holdings, a division of Pathway Communities, plan to breakground on their $35-million, 264,238-sf addition to Kedron Villageshopping center, 35 miles southwest of Downtown Atlanta. Theexpansion will start in spring 2005 at the 10-year-old, 135,762-sfcenter.

Peachtree City Council approved the project despite objectionsfrom neighborhood groups in the north end of the city, where theaddition will be built between Georgian Park, GA 74 and PeachtreeParkway. The addition will include a $10-million, 124,717-sf TargetSupercenter and 13 additional buildings totaling 139,521 sf. Thetentative completion date is spring 2006.
