Although it only includes 120acres, the proposed Harlem PMD is home to 45 companies employing1,600. GE Mathis Co.; Hinckley Springs; International Paper; PrismCorp.; Spring Air Midwest; and Thompson Steel Polishing Co. areamong those who have long set up shop.
The city council is reviewing the two planned manufacturingdistricts, giving the city 14, which were proposed by Mayor RichardM. Daley.
