Vail Resorts, a publicly traded company that operates the skimountain, plans a $300-million redevelopment of Lionshead, as partof a $1-billion redevelopment of all of Vail. The new Lionsheadvillage, at the base of the EagleBahn Gondola, would include a newRockResorts luxury hotel and spa. RockResorts is controlled by VailResorts. It also would have 71 condominiums, ranging in size fromabout $1.3 million for a 1,400-sf unit to slightly less than $10million for a 7,000-sf unit penthouse. Most of the units will havethree bedrooms and will be priced from the low $2 million to thelow $3 millions.

The plan also calls for an outdoor ice rink, new landscaping anda new skier bridge, a nationally branded hotel, and newrestaurants, shopping and entertainment.
