The local kidney disease management company has purchased a20,000-sf office condominium at 2149 E. Warner Rd. in the EastValley for its corporate headquarters and a dialysis facility. Theoffice condo, located within Warner Century Plaza, was sold byMesa-based Utaz Development Corp. The institute already has amedical office in the plaza.

Southwest Kidney Institute CEO Jeff Weintraub says finish-outhas begun on the office condo to set up a move in March. About10,000 sf of the office condo will be dedicated to administrativeoffices and the other half will house home dialysis andhemo-dialysis facilities. Currently, Southwest Kidney Institute'sadministrative offices are housed in 5,000 sf at Stapley Center at1640 S. Stapley Dr.

In another transaction across town, Southwest Kidney Instituteacquired 1.1 acres at 343 E. Coronado St. near the Good SamaritanHospital in Phoenix from Nashville-based Renal Care Group. Thecompany will build a 20,000-sf dialysis service center on the land.Weintraub tells GlobeSt.com that the plan calls for medical officeson the second floor and 24 hemo-dialysis stations on the firstfloor. The institute has submitted site plans to the city and hopesto break ground on the building early next year.
