The USPS has approved funding to proceed with site developmentand project design, but has not yet approved a budget forconstruction. Site preparation work is expected to take about ayear. The land is located just west of the GM Powertrainheadquarters building, north of Montcalm and west of Glenwood.

"This project in Pontiac is a good example of how GM works withthe state and local communities to support productive economicdevelopment," says Matt Cullen, GM's general manager of economicdevelopment and enterprise services.

"The site work will be done in a manner that is sensitive to thecommunity while ensuring we have a superior location preparedforthe potential USPS distribution center," says Pontiac Mayor WilliePayne.
