PARSIPPANY, NJ-Zimmer Trabecular Metal Technology has signed a long-term lease for a total of 111,821 sf, representing the entire building at 10 Pomeroy Rd. here. The contemporary industrial building, which sits on an 11-acre site, will become the new headquarters for the company’s administrative, manufacturing, packaging and warehousing operations, which are currently housed in nearby Allendale, NJ.

The owner of the building, the Delray Beach, FL-based Pilot Realty, was represented by the broker trio of senior vice president Howard Weinberg and associates Matthew Turse and Austin Godfrey of the local office of Colliers Houston & Co. The company has its home base in Teaneck, NJ. The tenant was represented by Newmark Associates of Whippany, NJ. Terms of the lease were not disclosed.

“The building is being totally refitted to accommodate Zimmer’s special requirements,” according to Weinberg. “There will be more than 100 staff members at the site.”

Zimmer Trabecular Metal Technology produces artificial joints for knees and hips, as well as dental and spinal implants and other products related to orthopedic surgery. The company is a subsidiary of the Warsaw, IN-based Zimmer Inc., a producer of orthopedic products and services that generates close to $1.4 billion a year in sales.

This lease is the latest in a series of deals done by Colliers Houston’s Weinberg, Turse and Godfrey. At the 76,000-sf 107 Fairfield Rd. in Fairfield, NJ, the trio recently represented Commerce Center Realty in the signing of Liberty Optical Manufacturing Co. to 13,200 sf of office/warehouse space; the distributor of sports eyewear was repped by Weichert Commercial Brokerage Inc. At the same property, the trio brokered the signing of Signature Marketing Group to 11,665 sf, with CB Richard Ellis as the tenant’s rep.

Finally, the three brokers represented owner Tower Walsh Associates in the renewal by Abbott Laboratories for 67,200 sf at 280 Walsh Dr. within the Fox Hill Industrial Park here. Cushman & Wakefield spoke for Abbott Labs.
