The expansion is expected to create 150 new jobs. Lapeer MetalStamping is a Tier One supplier of high-quality metal stampings andassemblies for the automotive industry.
The Michigan Economic Development Corp. is providing a$1.2-million grant to Sebewaing to help fund infrastructureimprovements necessary to support the move. Lapeer Metal alreadyhas existing operations nearby in Sebewaing.
Sebewaing will use the funding for road, water and sewerimprovements as well as training for new employees. Sebewaing willcontribute an additional $280,000 to support the expansion.
