Executive Watch
Jonathan A. Schein - President & CEO - Real Estate Media - GlobeSt.com11/15/05: When George W. Bush won the election in 2000, Harvard MBA in hand, he was hailed as the country’s first CEO president. Finally, we had someone with a business background handling the nation’s affairs. Right now, Bush’s approval rating is at its lowest point ever, and some of the blame lies with media hype and the second-term fatigue phenomenon. However, much of this can also be blamed on certain management missteps that only the president himself can rectify. If his education in management and his business experience mean anything, he’d know that now’s the time to pull himself out of this predicament. A good first step may be to shake up the organizational chart. It’s one thing to hold a degree from a top-ranked business program; it’s another thing to apply it.
