Cost of development remains in flux, Dodge tells GlobeSt.com, asthey hinge on the tenant improvements required by a second anchortenant. That likely will be a branch bank, Dodge adds. His group'sproposal was recently endorsed by the plan commission.

"The main anchor at the property is Staples," says 21st AldermanHoward B. Brookins Jr. "We need shopping in my ward; we're reallyexcited about this company coming into the community."

The 7.1-acre site is owned by All-Style Iron Products Inc.,which has operations on the site, as well as a Highland Park-basedowner that leased space to a home remodeling supply company,according to the Department of Planning and Development. Nineindustrial buildings will be demolished to make way for theshopping center.
