The church sought the county's approval to develop a largerfacility for its growing congregation of 4,000. To accommodate allmembers, the church holds six different services at its current23,000-sf building in Vienna, which was designed to hold only500.
Korean Central Presbyterian's plans include the construction oftwo buildings. The first will be a 175,000-sf structure with a2,000-seat sanctuary and 500-seat chapel, offices, a 2,000-sfrectory, a nursery school and a K-2 elementary school for 100students. The second building will be 30,000 sf in size and willfeature additional office and classroom space and a 150-childdaycare center. The property will also offer a gym.
A development cost for the project has not been released. Thechurch's current 23,000-sf home in Vienna cost $1.6 million todevelop 20 years ago, according to a document by WLAPC Architects,which designed the facility.
