The insurance company plans to consolidate approximately 1,000employees at the new location by the first quarter of 2008, but itwill retain its corporate headquarters office at Newport Center inNewport Beach. The building will be developed at 45 Enterprise inthe master-planned, 1.8-million-sf Summit Office Campus.

In addition to the office building, the project will included anadjacent parking structure. Pacific and Parker expect thatconstruction will begin in the third quarter of this year, with thebuilding to be ready for occupancy in the first quarter of2008.

The Pacific Life employees who will be consolidated into the newbuilding will be moved from offices in Foothill Ranch and NewportBeach. The insurance company employs about 2,500 workers locally,according to Thomas Sutton, the company's chairman and CEO.
