Perhaps thelatest to-do over Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld may be agreat case study to examine. On the surface, President Bushis vehemently behind his chosen manager, almost to the point wherehe has boxed himself in. On the other side are pastsubordinates who are exclaiming that it is time for a change andthis is the most opportune time do so. The point here is not ajudgment about the successes or failures of Rumsfeld'sservice. The idea here is to examine how we also sometimesdon't look at all points of view in a particular case. Andwhichever decision is ultimately made, it is always advantageous toexamine all counsel.
