PHILADELPHIA-Two area companies have added to their management staffs. Locally based Hersha Hospitality Management has hired new regional sales directors to cover 18 of its 50-plus properties. The Jenkintown-based American Financial Realty Trust has hired a senior vice president of asset management.

Fred Arena, former Northeast regional director of commercial real estate for the Irving, TX-based Archon Group, will oversee AFR’s 30-person asset management team. A spokesperson for Archon tells the company is closing its regional office in Chatham, NJ.

Arena brings 21 years of experience in managing both private and public companies’ real estate portfolios to his AFR post.
