ORLANDO-Plans for the $2.5-billion Universal Boulevard projectare taking shape with construction set to begin on several majorcomponents of the project in the coming months. Construction willbegin in August on the second phase of the Village of Lake Cay, an80-acre resort residential project by Pulte Homes and UniversalCity Property Management.

The first phase, which broke ground in spring 2005, consisted of194 town homes and 480 condominiums. The second phase will consistof 320 condominiums. The third phase, which consists of a250,000-sf grocery anchored neighborhood retail center, will breakground in November, Marc Watson, vice president of Newman, GA-basedThomas Enterprises Inc. tells GlobeSt.com. "We've closed on 500units in the first phase of the project and 700 units in the secondphase. Sales have been strong even in this slow period."
