The stadium itself will also be a little taller--about 20feet--under plans developed by 360 Architecture, a Kansas City,MO-based firm that specializes in sports venues. The new detailswere released by officials of the NJSEA, a state agency; officialsof both teams declined further comment.

The new stadium is slated to replace the existing 30-year-oldGiants Stadium, which the Jets have shared for the past 20 years.The teams' deal with the NJSEA also calls for new trainingcomplexes; the Giants' will be on-site here, while the Jets will bebuilt in Florham Park. The new stadium will be co-funded by the twoteams.

The new stadium project, which will also include more than500,000 sf of ancillary sports-related space, still faces severalsteps before ground is broken. The NJSEA itself gets first crack atthe proposal, after which it must be reviewed and approved by theNew Jersey DEP and the New Jersey Meadowlands Commission.
