SOUTH GATE, CA-Red Mountain Retail Group of Santa Ana and AlliedRetail Partners of Newport Beach plan to develop a new 600,000-sflifestyle retail center for completion by May 2008. The newproject, being designed by Irvine-based KTGY Group Architecture andPlanning, will create a "celebration of brands," says Greg Lyon,principal at KTGY in Santa Monica.

Planned for a 35-acre site at the high-traffic intersection ofAtlantic Avenue and Firestone Boulevard, the project will feature avariety of static building wall posters, big screen images,streaming commercials, TV programs, interviews with entertainmentand sports figures, movie trailers and live broadcasts, accordingto Doug Beiswenger, managing partner of Allied Retail Partners. Thesigns and other media that will be mounted or displayed on thebuildings at the center "will essentially become a second skin onthe buildings," Beiswenger says.
