Denis Dowdle, president and manager of Madison Seaport HoldingsLLC, which plans to build the extended stay and limited-serviceassets, tells GlobeSt.com that the venture would provide lowerpriced hotel rooms for convention visitors and tourists who don'tneed the amenities higher cost hotels offer.

The hotels, which will feature 502 rooms, will have aground-floor lobby and 8,414 sf of retail along with 150 parkingspaces on the second through fifth floors and will include a pool,spa and sundeck.

The project is currently under review by the BostonRedevelopment Authority and the state's Executive Office ofEnvironmental Affairs. Dowdle says the developer is currentlytalking to hotel operators about franchising the hotel or operatingit as a joint venture.
