SOUTH BRUNSWICK, NJ-McMaster-Carr Supply Co. has sold 473 RidgeRd., a 318,000-sf industrial building here, for $16.5 million. Thesale price factors out to approximately $52 per sf. The buyer isCentral Mills Inc., a New York City-based apparel manufacturer thatwill consolidate two current facilities in the region at the newlyacquired property.

For McMaster-Carr, an Elmhurst, IL-based supplier of industrialmaterials and supplies, the sale is also part of a consolidationand, in this case, an expansion. As reported by GlobeSt.com, thecompany put the building up for sale in April 2006 as part of apending move to a new 600,000-sf regional headquarters anddistribution center in Washington Township. The new site, built byMatrix Development Group, will house the combined operations of thejust-sold building at 473 Ridge Rd. and an adjacent 147,000-sfbuilding at 461 Ridge Rd.
