ATLANTA-Avon, OH-based Henkel Corp. Inc. has signed a multi-year lease for 300,842 sf at Building 2 of Majestic Airport Center II at 4955 Mason Rd. The company will use the space for its regional warehousing and distribution services.

Henkel develops and markets home, office, do-it-yourself and professional adhesive products. The lease was handled by Todd Carter, of City of Industry, Calif.-based Majestic Realty Co. Henkel Corp. was represented by Ray Stache, of Cushman & Wakefield.

“This facility provides state-of-the-art design and fills a growing need for our company,” says Henkel Corp. vice president of operations Gene Obrock. “The Majestic Airport Center II property offers us the space we need with an option to grow as we continue to serve the needs of our client base in this part of the country.”

Carter tells GlobeSt.com that Henkel is the second tenant in the 660,000-sf Building 2. GE, which leases 360,000 sf, is the other tenant. Henkel occupies space that had been occupied by Pennsylvania-based third party logistics company Genco. Henkel has hired Genco to run the facility. One of the reasons Henkel chose the space was its close proximity to Interstate 285, which leads to other major roadways. “By being so close to I-285, they were not pinned down to one major roadway,” Carter says.

The other reason Henkel chose the park was because it could accommodate future growth. Majestic recently completed construction of two speculative buildings totaling more than 1.6 million sf. The properties feature crock-dock loading, rail service, seven-inch concrete floors, 36-foot clear ceiling heights, trailer storage, skylights and clear story glass. Other tenants at Majestic Airport Center II include Costco Wholesale, GE Appliance, GE Energy, Kellogg, Del Monte and Caterpillar.
