NOVI, MI-Ryder System Inc. has signed a 10-year lease for 120,000 sf of space at the new Haggerty Corridor Corporate Office Park, owned and managed by a joint venture between Northern Equities Group and Etkin Equities LLC. Ryder’s Supply Chain Solutions division is consolidating two area offices in Farmington Hills and Ann Arbor into the 150,000-sf building, bringing about 700 employees of the transportation and logistics company to the city.

Construction on the new building will start in April, and it should be complete by March 2008. The building will be in the second phase of the office park, currently at one million sf, and expected to have 50 office properties with 2.5 million sf when it’s complete, says Matthew Sosin, a vice president with Northern. The park is on the north side of 13 Mile Road near M-5.

“We’re doing really well with the park,” Sosin tells “In the past two months, we’ve leased more than 150,000 sf.”

The park has two building types which are geared toward office, research and development and light industrial uses, Sosin says. The singe-story buildings lease for about $14.50 per sf, he says, and the multistory buildings lease for about $17.25 to $18.50 per sf. The Ryder lease is in a single-story building, Sosin says. The owners are marketing the rest of the 30,000 sf.
