Being developed by General Growth Properties, Summerlin Centrewill be located northeast of the intersection of the 215 Beltwayand Sahara Avenue. The 100-acre development will combine 1.4million sf of retail shopping and dining with office space, a hoteland residences. An adjoining 300 acres that already includes thenew Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa will consist primarily ofresidential development.

The Nordstrom at Summerlin Centre will be the retailer's secondfull-line store in Nevada. The retailer opened a store at FashionShow Mall -- another General Growth-owned- and-managed shoppingcenter -- in 2002. Nordstrom also operates one of its Rack outletstores in Las Vegas.

Nordstrom president Erik Nordstrom says the decision to openanother store in the Las Vegas area was an "easy decision" because"the city continues to grow, and our store at Fashion Show has donevery well over the last four years."
