The information technology consulting firm opened a one-personoffice here in 2005. The relocation begins with 2,549 sf of officespace with room to expand. James Marczak, the company's presidentand CEO, says it plans to increase its North American labor forceto more than 100 by 2009.

Gov. Ed Rendell's action team and the Allegheny Conference onCommunity Development coordinated the incentive package. It will bedoled out over three years and consists of up to $100,000 from thestate's opportunity grant program, up to $100,000 in customized jobtraining funds and up to $160,000 in job creation tax credits. In astatement, Rendell says, "The company's decision to invest and growhere will translate into new professional opportunities in fieldsthat are experiencing impressive growth."

Marczak says Sycor will use the funds for training andrecruiting. He also says the company plans a $3-million investment,which includes $1.7 million in leasehold improvements and newoffice equipment. The locally based Soffer Organization owns themulti-building Penn Center West business park. According to itswebsite, the asking rent rate at the 91,672-sf One Penn Center Westis $21.50 per sf.
