WHITE PLAINS-Austin Corporate Properties Inc. has brokered two sublease deals totaling more than 18,000 sf here. Hitachi Metals Ltd. has signed a short-term sublease of 18 months for 10,646 sf of space on the second floor of 701 Westchester Ave. here. The firm, which is headquartered in 25,000 sf of space at 2 Manhattanville Rd. in Purchase, has taken occupancy of the new space for a project-oriented use, says Philip Luria, vice president of Rye Brook-based Austin Corporate Properties. Luria represented Hitachi Metals in its sublease deal with IBM Corp.

Also, Reliable E Commerce has signed a four-year sublease for 7,720 sf of space at 500 Mamaroneck Ave. here. Reliable, a telecommunications company, has relocated operations from the Bronx to its new location. Austin’s Luria represented sub-landlord HCL Jones Technologies LLC, a joint venture of Jones Apparel Group and HCL Technologies in the transaction. HCL Jones will retain a presence at the property. Richard Leroy of Delphi Commercial Properties Inc. of Tarrytown represented Reliable E Commerce.

Officials with Austin Corporate Properties note that the firm is currently marketing 13,700 sf of sublease space put on the market by Hudson City Savings Bank at 1311 Mamaroneck Ave. in White Plains. The space formerly housed regional offices of Sound Federal Savings Bank, which was acquired by Hudson City Savings Bank last year, Luria notes.

Hudson City Savings Bank announced on Monday that the 14 Sound Federal Savings Bank branches in Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties in New York and Fairfield County, CT, will now operate under the Hudson City Savings Bank name. In addition, the firm reports that it plans to open a new branch in Monroe, CT and White Plains later this month.
