The expansion is scheduled to be complete by Sept. 28, and willcoordinate with the mall's 30th anniversary, says a Taubmanspokeswoman. "The mall will have more than 200 stores by the timeeverything opens," she tells GlobeSt.com.

She says the mall has had to turn away retailers because it wastoo full, and that the expansion will allow more stores in. About22 retailers have agreed to move into the mall, she says. The spokeswoman refused to provide lease rates for the newtenants. According to a year-end report by Signature Associates,retail lease rates for this type of property in Novi average $18 to$26 per sf.
