The casino operator "has recently received preliminary andconditional indications of interest from parties proposing toacquire the company," according to company officials in a releaseissued today. "There can be no assurance that any of theseindications of interest will result in a sale of the company or anyother transactions." Trump brought Merrill Lynch on board in Marchto assess the company's options.

The firm of Kirkland & Ellis is now retained as legaladvisors, which has practice areas in both restructurings as wellas corporate transactions such as mergers and acquisitions.

Trump Entertainment Resorts, which is separate from other Trumpdivisions, owns and operates the three Trump-branded casinos inAtlantic City. In February, a possible joint venture between TrumpEntertainment and Diamondhead Casino Corp. for the construction ofa casino on NewOrleans' outskirts was nixed. Trump Entertainment also lost outon a chance to develop a casino in Philadelphialast year.
