Saint Vincent Catholic Medical Centers recently announced plansto partner with the Rudin family on the development of the new St.Vincent's Hospital Manhattan. The new facility, which will servethe West Side and Downtown, will be built using greentechnologies.

Plans call for the new facility to be built on the site of theO'Toole Building on the west side of Seventh Avenue, the currentlocation of St. Vincent's physician offices and outpatient healthcenter. When the new facility is complete, the hospital will vacateits current buildings on the east side of Seventh Avenue, which theRudin family will develop primarily for residential use.

The new hospital will incorporate green technologies thatemphasize conservation of energy, water and other natural resourcesto reduce carbon emissions. Patient records, diagnostic testresults and radiological images will be kept electronically.
