Starwood Capital chairman and CEO Barry Sternlicht says the newBaccarat Hotels and Resorts line will feature between 80 to 250rooms/residences. The first property to be located in Wailea, HI,will consist of 193 condominium homes ranging in size from 980-sf,one-bedroom units to 3,330-sf, four-bedroom residences. TheBaccarat Wailea will be followed by other Baccarat propertiesplanned for locales in the Caribbean, US, Europe and the Far East,Starwood Capital officials say. Among the many amenities plannedfor the Baccarat properties will be signature Baccarat crystalchandeliers.

A controlled affiliate of locally based Starwood Capital owns86% of the shares of the Baccarat company, which it acquired aspart of the firm's purchase of Societe Du Louvre in 2005. StarwoodCapital Group's Sternlicht also serves as chairman of Societe DuLouvre.
