AMC Tustin 14, the first AMC theater in Tustin and the chain'sfourth location in Orange County, is the entertainment anchor atthe District at Tustin Legacy, notes Peter C. Brown, the chairman,chief executive officer and president of AMC Entertainment Inc.Jeffrey Axtell, project director of the regional center for VestarDevelopment Co., points out that the area surrounding the projectprovides a plentiful customer base, with more than 1.47 millionpermanent residents and 930,000 employees living within a 10-mileradius.

The AMC joins Costco, Lowe's and dozens of other tenants whohave made their debut or will soon do so at the District at TustinLegacy, which is at the corner of Jamboree Rd. and Barranca Pkwy.The center, slated for its grand opening on Aug. 17, is a projectof Vestar/Kimco Tustin LP, a joint venture by Vestar DevelopmentCo. and Kimco Developers, with Vestar as the center's developer andits management company.

The open-air lifestyle and entertainment center is part of thelarger Tustin Legacy project, a redevelopment of the former MarineCorps Air Station here that will also include office, residentialand other types of development. Axtell notes that the retail centerwill feature walkways and bike paths that will eventually connectit with other components of the Tustin Legacy project.
