Belden, who represented the private trust that acquired thecenter, tells GlobeSt.com that the property is 100% occupied by atenant roster including office, retail, residential, restaurantsand a live theater. The property is unusually large for SantaMonica, with about 200 feet of frontage along Main Street, andbacks onto Second Street. It also includes a two-story undergroundparking garage.
The Edgemar Center is named for the business that originallyoccupied the site, which was a dairy called Edgemar Farms. Gehrydesigned the center around the dairy, restoring 20% of thebuildings.
The theater and restaurant space now occupy 20% of the originalbuildings that were restored. The remaining 80% of the space is newconstruction that was added when the property was converted from adairy to its current use.
