Crosland plans to announce additional tenants over the comingmonths. "Our goal is to provide area residents with a distinct mixof national and regional retailers and restaurants, neighborhoodshops and services," says James Downs, vice president of Crosland'sretail division. Located at the intersection of ChamberlayneRoadand Atlee Road in northeast Richmond, the center fronts theentrance to the 200-acre HH Hunt master-planned community, with 575residences. Crosland will also be developing the outparcels, whichare situated on seven acres adjacent to Rutland Commons.

Crosland has been strategically expanding from is southeaststronghold since 2000. It has opened offices in Raleigh, NC,Orlando and Tampa, FL, and Nashville. From these offices it haslaunched major developments in such new markets, such as Richmond.Last year, for instance, Chesterfield County mandated Crosland toredevelop the Cloverleaf Mall site and several adjacent parcelstotaling 83 acres at Chippenham Parkway and Midlothian Turnpike.Crosland was spotlighted recently in the real estate community whenits chairman and CEO Todd W. Mansfield, was named chairman of theUrban Land Institute. The company did not return calls in time fordeadline.
