And the move will be facilitated with the help of a stateBusiness Employment Incentive Program grant, tied to the jobs beingretained in New Jersey, and those that will be added. The BEIPgrant, which is administered by the New Jersey EDA, will amount toa total of $550,699 over the next 10 years. ITelagen opted to stayin New Jersey after contemplating a move across the river to NewYork.

"The obvious solution would have been to set up our headquartersin New York City, where much of our customer base is," saysITelagen managing director John O'Keefe. "But the grant, combinedwith the accessibility of Harborside Financial Center, swayed ourdecision. Jersey City is a major transportation hub that provideseasy access to Manhattan while allowing us to tap into the pool ofintellectual talent in New Jersey."

Besides its headquarters operations here, ITelagen maintainsfive support centers in New York, New Jersey, Maryland andCalifornia. "BEIP grants offer important financial incentives tocompanies considering expansion or relocation to New Jersey," saysCaren Franzini, NJEDA's CEO. "They are a key element of Gov. [Jon]Corzine's economic growth strategy."
