The global initiative has taken the fast-track at Real EstateMedia in recent weeks. In August, ALM closed on its acquisition byIncisiveMedia, a London-based company with financial services, riskmanagement, professional-services and marketing-services productsbased in major markets around the globe.

Desiato served as group managing director and editor in chief ofReal Estate Media from 1989 to 2006. He joined REM in 1979 as anassistant editor for Real Estate Forum magazine and wasnamed associate publisher three years later. In 1989, he becameeditor in chief of the magazine and later played a key role in thedevelopment and launch of REM's regional magazines, Real EstateSouthern California, Real Estate New York and Real EstateNew Jersey.

Desiato is the former president and chairman of the NationalAssociation of Real Estate Editors. He is the host of the "Insidethe Real Estate Mind" sessions at REM's RealShare conferenceseries, interviewing leaders of the commercial real estateindustry, and has served as a panelist for industry organizationsincluding the Urban Land Institute and BOMA International. He isalso a member of BOMA International's Education AdvisoryCouncil.
