Ostroff, marking his 25th year in the business, underwentlengthy surgery Saturday for an aneurism after he collapsed whilejogging. In the past seven years, he has soldat least $2 billion of properties in the US for institutionalpowerhouses like Equity Residential Properties Trust,Archstone-Smith Trust, FirstWorthing Corp. and ING ClarionPartners.

Ostroff and former partner, Will Balthrope, now senior directorfor Marcus & Millichap Real Estate Investment Services,co-founded C&W's Multi-Housing Group after record-breakingconsecutive years of investment sales from 1999 through 2002 atGrubb & Ellis Co. The power team split in 2006, but thelong-time partners remained close friends.
