GARNER, NC-Turkey producer Butterball has broken ground on a new$12-million, 46,000-sf corporate headquarters. The project willinvolve two phases of construction, which are expected to becompleted in mid-2008.

Upon completion, the company will move 70 corporate andmanagement-level employees from its current headquarters in Mt.Olive, NC. The company will continue to operate its 65,000-sfturkey-processing plant in Mt. Olive, which employs 2,600people.

The new building will feature a high-tech customer experiencecenter with a stainless steel kitchen designed to educate retailcustomers. The building's interior will feature historical accents,such as old Butterball logos and framed advertisements dating backto the brand's inception in 1954.
