TRENTON-This city’s Department of Housing and Economic Development has released an RFP inviting developers to submit proposals for redevelopment of a nearly half-acre vacant site near Downtown. City officials say they’re looking for either housing or mixed uses.

The land, located at the corner of Hamilton and South Clinton avenues, once housed Polizzi Meats and a few private houses. Those buildings have already been demolished, and a preliminary environmental assessment has also given the site a clean bill of health.

“The site, located just a short walk from the Trenton Train Station, the Sovereign Bank Arena and what will be the Foundry entertainment center, is one of the great development opportunities in the Northeast,” says Mayor Douglas Palmer. “Over the next few years we will see tremendous development in the vicinity of the train station and the emerging entertainment district. We are seeking developers with a feel for that emerging vitality.”

The entire RFP, including maps, an aerial photo of the site and the city’s green building guidelines are available from the Trenton DHED, which is headed by director Sasa Olessi Montano.
